He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy May (Spencer) and John May; his wife Carolyn Leigh Phillips (James); his sisters, Pat Richey and Pamela Sue Sayre; his grandson William Anthony Fortner; and his great grandchildren, Aleecia Tackett and Abigail Yager.
He is survived by: his children, Eunice Marie Newcom (Keith) of Louisville, Dorothy Rose Horton of Pendleton, Susan Lorraine Marshall (Don) of Frankfort, Patricia Joann Smith (Junior) of Carrollton, Judith Ann Rice (Jason Crapo) of Mauckport, IN, Laura Leigh Bennett (Darren) of Corydon, IN and Howard Raymond Rice (Amanda) of Bethlehem. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren 10 Great-Grandchildren 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
