She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Gardner and Alta Berry Gardner; her husband Willard Brooks Mitchell; and her sister Shirley Radford. She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Mitchell Pyle of Pembroke and Charlotte M. Hendricks of Pembroke; and her grandson Kevin Hendricks (Nicole) of Texas. She is also survived by her three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Bethel Baptist Church in Fairview or Max's Hope.
