She was predeceased by: her parents, Alec Burrus and Mary Elizabeth Rawlins Matlock; her husband Jerome Boyd; her daughter Regina Thompson; her grandchildren, Derrick Thompson Jr. and Amber Thompson; and her siblings, Clara Edwards, Lorraine Day, Jerry Rawlins and Darryl Matlock.
She is survived by: her siblings, Bobby Matlock (Joanna), Amos Kenner, Dorothy Bell (John), Wilma Leavell (Darrin), Sonya Burrus and Carol Robinson; and her grandchildren, Kristina Thompson-Taylor and Poiema Israel (Ebonie). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and close friends.
