She was predeceased by: her parents, Ellis W. Johnson and Martha Susan Baker Johnson; her husband Gerald Carpenter; and her siblings, John Frank, William "Bill", Lloyd Johnson, Alberta Jones and Opal Meacham.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Holman of Franklin, TN, Kathy Chandler of Mt. Juliet, TN and Janet Brockwell (Randy) of Richmond, KY. She is also survived by five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
