He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Barnes and Rosalie Mathney Sutton; his siblings, Jim Barnes and Mary Ealy; and his grandson Wade Polly.

He is survived by: the mother of his children Norma Barnes; his children, Doris Daniels (Shawn), Virginia Maiden (Ricky) and David Barnes (Linda); his grandchildren, Michael Howard, Krista Sergent, Cody Howard and Erick Fritts; his great grandchildren, Avery Polly, Alyssa Polly, Kennedy Sergent and Ryker Fritts; his siblings, Earnest "Red" Barnes, Glenna Brooks, Barbara Tirey and Paul Barnes; and his nephew Terry Ealy (Pam). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

“sorry to here Keith had passed away , he was a good man ,i lived next door to the Barnes's for 20 or more years or more grew up with Terry Paul , and the whole family he will be missed by all who knew him knew Norma , and her mother & cousins Elmo, Bur do, & Britt Daniel's sorry i moved away it was for the best no work except for coal when mom sold the house i knew i would not have a home to come back too , miss everyone of you guy`s your friend Danny Ray Brown”
