He was predeceased by: his parents, Nat Higginbotham and Dovie Morrison Higginbotham; his granddaughter Jaclyn Matott; and his siblings, Leslie Higginbotham and Mary Higginbotham.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Higginbotham and Barbara Matott; his stepchildren, Samuel Parker (Jiab), David Parker (Dawn) and Barbara J. Painter (Aubrey); and his sister Pauline Poynter. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
