He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Mattingly and Francis Louise Miller Gaitskill; his stepfather Robert Carrol Talbot Gaitskill; his brother James Lee Mattingly; his grandson Gregory Lee Sharon; his aunt Pauline Crump; and his stepgranddaughter Stephanie Drury.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Mattingly; his children, Robert Mattingly II (Heather) and Michelle Mattingly Sharon (Leslie); his stepchildren, Phyllis Williams (Larry), Hope Deakins (Billy) and Johnny Drury; his sister Jackie Chaykowski (Bernie) of Mantua, OH; his aunt Barbara O; his daughter Linda Peters Mattingly; and his pet Mattie. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 4 great -grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, and 20 step-great grandchildren.
