He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Brenda Neal Shanks; his parents, James Shanks and Faye Fuller Shanks; his sons, John Shanks, Jr. (Sherri) and Jeffery Shanks (Liz LeMaster); his grandchildren, Kaylee Shanks (Thomas Howard), Keelan Shanks, Logan Shanks and Kingston Shanks; his great grandchild Brantley Howard; his nephews, Tanner Hall and Trenton Stacey; and his brother Gary Shanks. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
