He was predeceased by: his father John William; his former wife Virginia Mitchell Cartmill; his son Daryl Carmtill; his wife Carolyn Altom Cartmill; his sister Deloris Howard; and his half-brother Kenneth Cartmill.
He is survived by: his brother Frank Cartmill (Peggy) of Paris; his daughter Cheryl Clark (Lee) of Dallas, Georgia; his grandchildren, Maeghan Elisabeth Cartmill, Maereah Isabella Cartmill, Jarrett Tyson Cartmill, Tiffany Nicole Holstrom (Josh), Tara Leigh Clark and Tesla Lynn Clark; his nieces and nephews, Donna Howard Honican, Timmy Howard, Dana Cartmill Willson, Kenny Cartmill and Jane Switzer; and his daughter-in-law Teresa Cartmill. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews.
