He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Thomas and Ruby Combs Thomas. He is survived by: his children, William "Gene" Thomas II and Alicia Thomas; his grandchildren, Peyton Ashley Couch (Brandon), MacKenzie Elizabeth Hall, Kelsie Anne Hall and Isabella Maria Hall; his sister Judith Thomas MacDuffee; his nephew David MacDuffee (Andrea); his niece Julia Falach (Nisim); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jacob, Gloria Falach, Trevor, Clay and Emily MacDuffee; and his adoptive daughter Melinda Brislin.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Bluegrass Hospice Care or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
