He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Hicks and Belva Cyphers Hicks; and his siblings, Herbert, Fred, Aven Hicks, Bernice Hicks, Pauline Hicks, Irene Rausch and Aileen Samples.

He is survived by: his brother James A. Hicks (Jeanette) of Lexington; and his nieces and nephews, Ricky Hicks, Waneyca Gray, Jean Hicks, Pamela Hicks, Allan Rausch, Linda Samples and Kathy David.
