He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Sr. Wallen and Gladys Mae Vaughn Wallen; and his brother Garland Synder. He is survived by: the mother of his children Shirley Hancock Wallen; his children, Thomas James Wallen, Charles Lee Wallen, Nancy Jane Marcum and Tosha Nicole Adeleke; and his siblings, Harry Wallen and Monta Gail Newsome. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and one grandchild.
