He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Preece and Elsie Hubbard Preece; his stepdaughter Angela Evans; and his brother John Mack Preece. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Scott Preece; his children, Adam Thomas Preece (Alyssa) of Van Lear, Kentucky and Myrna Young (Andrew) of Leavittsburg, Ohio; his stepchildren, Kevin Fields (Brenda) of Inez Kentucky and Denise Bowen (Elden) of Inez, Kentucky; his sisters, Glenna Sammons (Phillip) of Danville, KY, Wanda Charles of Jeffersonville and Betty Biggerstaff (Ray) of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Brittany Young and Bryson Preece; and his great grandchild Felicity Nicole. He is also survived by step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Full military honors will be conducted by Auxier Chapter 18 DAV and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Auxier Chapter 18 DAV by contacting Jones-Preston Funeral Home at 606-789-3501.
