He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Rubado and Viola LaBarge Rubado; and his son Gary "Alex" Rubado. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Rubado; his daughters, Anvia Sheldon (Matt) of Cleveland and Nicole Belcher (Steve) of Paintsville, Kentucky; and his brother Robert Rubado of Ellensburg. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
