He is survived by: his spouse Rue Hemmie Childers Hager; his son Joseph Gilliam; his caregivers, Tammy Butcher, Carletta Fraley and Hannah Butcher; his sisters, Rose Ellen Wells and Katherine Prater; his pet Cutie; and his friend Christians. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
