He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Henry Barber and Sarah Francis "Patty" Spradlin Barber; his wife Grace Kerns Barber; his son-in-law Richard Henry Potter II; his sisters, Blanche Daniels, Doris Wheeler and Phyllis McKenzie; and his grandchildren, Tanya Potter Bailey and Richard Henry Potter III.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Potter of Dudley, Connie Phelps (James) of Indianapolis, Tim Barber (Joann) of Staffordsville and Deborah McKenzie (Paul David) of Paintsville; his grandchildren, Amy Phelps of Franklin, Melissa Estep (Tommy) of Noblesville, Eric Potter of Dudley and Matthew Barber (Charity) of Madisonville, Kentucky; and his brother-in-law Douglas Kerns (Madge) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He is also survived by great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
