We bid farewell to Verna Lee Hurst of Paducah, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 3, 2024 at the age of 93. Verna Lee touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Richard Hurst, Sr.; her parents, William Garney McCloud and Willie Goble McCloud (Holland); her daughter Penny Lynn Kirkham; her granddaughter Leigh Anne Hurst; and her siblings, Dorothy Nell Golightly, Ella Mae Joyce, Mayme Shoulta, William McCloud, Gaylon McCloud and Lacy McCloud.
She is survived by: her children, Rick Hurst (Margaret) of Reidland and Pamela Kay Railey of Wilmington, N. C.; and her grandchildren, Tracy Railey (Terri), Madalin Chadwick (Chris), Kelly Ladd, Scott Hurst (Robin), Thomas Kirkham (Stacy), Laurrelle Couch (Phillip) and Tim Kirkham. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hughes Funeral Home (2975 Old Husbands Rd, Paducah, KY 42003). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
