He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ray and Gladys Ryan Atkinson Simmons; his wife Dorothy "Dot" Coleman Simmons; and his brother Rollin Simmons. He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Ragland (Rick) of Paducah; his brother Guy Simmons (Annette) of Glasgow, KY; and his grandchildren, Wesley Clay Ragland (Santy) of Lexington, KY, Rae Ann Walker (Ben) of Paducah, Quinn Ellis Walker, Layne Walker, Kyler Ragland and Dylan Ragland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah (120 Memorial Dr, Paducah, KY 42001). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery (303 Leslie Ave, Glasgow, KY 42141).
