He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Schmidt and Edna Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Donna Ficco Schmidt of Paducah; his children, Alyson Schmidt of Houston, Texas and Michael Schmidt of Paducah; his siblings, Doris Wiens (Don) of Kensington, Kathy Houck (Mike) of Warsaw, Missouri, Norman Schmidt (Myrna) of Inman, David Schmidt (Elaine) of Inman and Pete Goering (Donna) of Newton, Kansas; and his stepmother Nora Jane Schmidt of Inman, Kansas..
