Harry Statham wrote a sympathy message

“Linn was my best friend and best man. He, more than anyone, affected my future career course. He was a leader by example in many ways. He did not smoke, drink, or use drugs. His family came first. He was an outstanding basketball and baseball player, coach, husband, father and friend. He was a hard working, dependable, honest citizen. The Brookport area was a better place to live because of the people who were touched by Linn Smith.”
