He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Thompson and Florence Green Thompson; his daughter Amy Thompson; and his siblings, Sam Thompson, Guy Thompson, Jesse Thompson, Mary Campbell, Cora Lee Thompson and Juanita Thompson.

He is survived by: his children, Kerry Thompson (Barbara) of Paducah, Toni Emerson of Hardin and Krista Mallory (Ricky Davis) of Benton; and his significant other Barbara Noll of Paducah. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; his fourteen great grandchildren.
