He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Sorrell and Bessie Nealis Sorrell; his grandfather Floyd; the mother of his children Lodema Denton Sorrell; his wife Martha Reed Sorrell; his sons, Dwayne Thomas Sorrell and Edward "Doodle" Sorrell; his brothers, Harold and Russell Sorrell; and his grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Sorrell.
He is survived by: his son Gary Sorrell (Deb) of Sharpsburg; his stepchildren, James Reed (Marsha), Lena Fultz (Roy) and Rita Cummins (Rusty); his daughter-in-law Cheryl Sorrell of Owingsville; his granddaughter Patti Sorrell; his great grandchildren, Tori Perkins, Corbin Sorrell, Gracie Sorrell, Brooklyn Reed and Jaxon Reed; and his great great grandchild Rayanna Perkins. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
