He was predeceased by: his wife Artie Turner Smoot; his parents, Ewell Smoot, Sr. and Nancye Staton Smoot; and his grandson Seth Thomas Risner. He is survived by: his children, Bobbie Jean Risner (Tom) of Jeffersonville Ky, Tina Taylor (Ralph) of Owingsville, KY and Shane Smoot (Melissa) of Owingsville Ky; his grandchildren, Chip Hart (Jennifer) of Owingsville Ky, Jonathan Hart (Annie) of Owingsville, KY, Joshua Risner of Jeffersonville Ky, Amber Moore (Ben), Hannah Smoot of Bellevue Ky and Cooper Dailey Smoot of Owingsville Ky; and his great grandchildren, Chase Hart, Katie Hart, Carter "Jack" Hart, Cole Hart, Claire Hart, Vivian Hart, Oliver Hart, Carson Hart and Lilly Moore.
