He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dallas "Jack" Stewart and Opal Webster Slaughter; his wife Verna Hellen Minch Stewart; his children, Ashley Griffin (Tod) and Gene Ray Stewart (Cara); his brother Marvin Stewart (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Price, Reese Ann Griffin, Clayton and Bailey Stewart; his brother-in-law Gary Minch (Janice); his niece Trina Stewart; his nephews, Brian Minch and Kevin Minch; and his uncle Bill Stewart.

Memorial contributions may be made to Owenton First Christian Church or Hosparus Palliative Care in Louisville.
