He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lathrem and Flossie Cornman Lathrem; and his sister Jeanette Wainscott. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Slaughter Lathrem; his son Brian Lathrem (Rita); his granddaughters, Marlee Beckham (Kaleb) and Chelsey Lathrem; his nephew Barry; and his cousins, Brenda, Phyllis, Larry, Carol and Pat.

Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery, with military honors, and memorial contributions are suggested to the church.
