He was predeceased by: his parents, William Murray Mitchell and Lou Anna Farmer Mitchell; his half-siblings, Keith Mitchell, Maud Dugger and Betty Jean Elders; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Gillaspie, Judy Hagan and Mary Cooney.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Gillaspie Mitchell; his children, Chuck Mitchell (Shannon) and Wanda Hatfield; his brother Eddie Mitchell (Kathy); his nephews, Josh Mitchell, Chris Mitchell and Nicky Mitchell; his grandchildren, Mycayla Mitchell, Natalie Hatfield, Jacob Mitchell and Mallory Hatfield; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Gillaspie, Barry Hagan, Robert Gillaspie (Paula), Ray Gillaspie (Ruth), Larry Gillaspie (Teresa), William Gillaspie, Jimmy Gillaspie (Beverly) and Nancy Bolton (Bill). He is also survived by nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces; and many cousins.
