He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Martinez and Mary Martinez; his former wife Dorothy Martinez; his children, Charles R. Martinez and Gerilee Marie Blue Brooks; his siblings, Vincent Martinez, Paul Martinez and Patsy Zuniga; and his granddaughter Sarah Blue.
He is survived by: his wife Frieda Martinez; his daughters, Cherie Stringer and Katrina Carrico (Kenneth); his stepchildren, Mickey Pullin, Teddy Pullin, Marty Pullin and Tracy Pullin; and his siblings, Rosie Bishop, Joby Weitz, Esther Johnson, Lupe Katsuda and Margie Martinez-Herzog. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren.
