He was predeceased by: his father James Howard; his wife Jewell Dean; his siblings, Sedalia Greer, Amanda Cooper, Alice May Maupins and Joe Howard; his sons, Darrin and Tyrone Howard; and his great grandchild Ryan Matthew.
He is survived by: his children, Lolita Scott, Marian "Baybay" Leachman and Jermaine Howard (Linda); his brother-in-law Hamadi Walls; his son-in-law Michael Leachman; and his nephews, William Greer and James Arthur Greer. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces.
