He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Henry L. Coons, Jr. and Virginia; his wife Bonita Williamson Coons; his sister Rebecca A Hampton; and his grandson Timothy Austin Blair.
He is survived by: his children, Heather Blair (Tim), Wendy Coy (Mark), Adrienne Coons and Andrew Coons; and his brother Robert Coons (Deborah) of Whitesville. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
