He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Jackson Hester Sr.; and his sister Nancy Drace (Billy Drace Sr.). He is survived by: his mother Minnie Catherine Basinger Hester; his wife Diane Martin Hester; his children, Carla Dockery, Paula Caldwell (Shannon), David Thompson (Angie), Dana Thompson and Lee Bowman (Salanda); and his sisters, Ann Irwin and Ruth Rager. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
