She was predeceased by: her husband John Verne Bethel; her parents, JT Poynter and Emma Poynter; and her sisters, Margaret Ellis Sipes and Marbrey Hedges.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Sheehan, Jody Emerson (Charles), Jay Bethel (Lois), Karla Ochoa (Eddie), Wayne Bethel (Carolyn) and Ellen Hawn; and her siblings, Betty Curl and Jerry Poynter. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Christian Church (700 J R Miller Blvd, Owensboro, KY 42303).
