He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Horlander and Melinda Frances Bolton Horlander; his wife Donna Gail Horlander; his stepdaughter Nellie Ann Vickers Howard; and his sister Judy Boyiadji.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard Dale Vickers (Carolyn Basham) and Jeremiah Lee Vickers (Tiffany); his siblings, Mike Horlander, Wayne Horlander (Sarah), C. J. Horlander, Tony Horlander (Printha), Emma Bryant (Rex), Beth Tong, Ruth Horlander and Teresa Horlander; his father-in-law James White; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Newton (Fred) and James Gerard White. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
