He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Thomas Hood, Sr. and Annette Jones Hood. He is survived by: his wife Melinda Pedigo Hood; his siblings, Carol Hood Wright of Bradenton, Florida, Brent Hood (Deborah) of Jacksonville and Norman Thomas Hood, Jr. (Cheryl) of Shelbyville; and his pets, Thomas and Abbie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
