She was predeceased by: her husband Fred Duncan; her siblings, Robert Wells, Joseph Wells, Elizabeth Heishman and Virginia Miles; and her grandson James Alan Sauer.

She is survived by: her children, Samuel Presley Sauer (Sharon) of Stanley, KY, Tommy Sauer (Donna) of Stanley, KY, David Sauer (Anne) of Tennessee and Laura Sauer Basanta (Gene) of Illinois; her grandchildren, John Sauer (Nicole) of Texas, Chris Sauer (Meghan Henson) of New York, Laura Palmer (David) of Pennsylvania, Jason Sauer of Louisville, KY, Will Basanta of California, Rob Basanta of Washington, Aaron Sauer and Adam Sauer of Louisiana; and her stepgrandchildren, Tambra Wethington Will of Indiana and Jeff Wethington of Owensboro.
