She was predeceased by: her parent Vernie C. Cates; and her brother Richard Cates. She is survived by: her children, Kevin Cowan of Eddyville and Vicky Tapp of Paducah. She is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
