He was predeceased by: his parents, Arch Hicks and Mary Virginia Haynes Hicks; and his siblings, Theresa Allan, Marianna, Polly, Buckles, Sierra Hicks and Archie Hicks.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Williams Hicks; his children, Sonja Burcham (Kim) of Owensboro, Roger Hicks (Don) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jonathan Hicks (Robin) of Laurium, MI and Timothy Hicks (Ashley) of Owensboro; his grandchildren, Nick McCosh (Katie), Ginny Layman (Paul), Melissa Kamuf (Ben), Jordan Hicks, Ella Grace Hicks and Paxton Graham Hicks; and his brother Calvin Hicks (Sue) of Piedmont, AL.. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
