She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Ebelhar and Antoinette Weber Ebelhar; her husband John Melvin Sims, Sr.; her daughter Rose J. Bartlett; and her siblings, Edward, Bernard, Raphael Ebelhar, Genfave Ebelhar and Catherine Simmons.

She is survived by: her children, Sharon Bumm and John M. "Johnny" Sims, Jr. of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Jason Hawkins, Brandon Hawkins, Michelle Kassinger (Dale) and Karen Bumm (Tim Roach); and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Justin Kassinger, Ann Marie Howard, Alexis and Aiden Poole. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
