She was predeceased by: her parents, James Spurlin and Gorda Felty Rhodes; her husband Charles K. Walton; her siblings, Lawrence of Jimmy, B. L., Justice, Willis, Elbert, Delbert Rhodes and Gusta Johnston; the father of her children Thomas Monroe Melton; and her son-in-law Eddie "Butch" Austin.
She is survived by: her children, James R. "Randy" Melton (Patsy), Nancy Brown (Tony Poiles), Suzette Austin and Vickie Carey (Tom); and her sister-in-law Mae Rhodes. She is also survived by four grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren.
