She was predeceased by: her parents, Alphonsus Schadler and Bernadine L. Kamuf Schadler; and her husband James D. McCarthy. She is survived by: her sons, Kevin J. McCarthy (Vicki) of Owensboro, Marion E. McCarthy (Tracy) of Owensboro, Rev. Carl G. McCarthy of Madisonville, KY and Phillip L. McCarthy (Stacey) of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Patrick McCarthy (Rebekah), Brittany Peek (Brian), Zachariah McCarthy (Rachel), Alyssa McCarthy, Michael McCarthy (Hannah) and Ashlin McCarthy; her great grandchild Elijah McCarthy; and her siblings, Eugene F. "Gene" Schadler of Curdsville and Jane Settles of Owensboro. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
