He was predeceased by: his parent Leslie H. Gilmore, Sr.. He is survived by: his parent Lalia Elliott Gilmore; his wife Virginia Jo Deason Gilmore; his daughter Debbie Jones; his daughter-in-law Pat Gilmore; his son Doug Gilmore Sr.; and his grandchildren, Brad Gilmore (Belinda), Tyra Malone (Bo), Bridget Boling (Richard), Prissy Gilmore, Jeremy Jones and Sonya Evans (Robbie). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
