He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Meter and Jean Van Meter; and his brother Doug Van Meter of Louisville, KY.. He is survived by: his brothers, Chip Van Meter of Naples, FL and John Van Meter of Orlando, FL; his wife Patricia; his children, Shelly Miller (Randy) of Hazel Green, Michael Van Meter (Jenny) of Owensboro, Lesley Van Daniker (Ryan) of Lexington, Tracy Rodenborn (Steve) of East Greenwich and Mark "Van" Van Meter (Eryn) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Brandy Dibble (Brent), Peyton Van Meter, Audrey Hartin (Austin), Claire Miller, Andrew Van Meter, Evan Van Daniker, Hannah Van Daniker, Tucker Van Meter, Cate Rodenborn, Will Rodenborn, Jack Rodenborn, Evelyn Van Meter, Wallace Van Meter and Adam Rodenborn; his great grandchildren, Ben Dibble, Barrett Dibble and Rowyn Hartin; and his close friends, Ray Garvin and James "Dude" Sterling.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory (900 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Catholic Church (2516 Christie Pl, Owensboro, KY 42301). A burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery (1860 W 9th St, Owensboro, KY 42303). A prayer will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory (900 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303).
