He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Henry and Mary Patton; and his uncle Robert Patton. He is survived by: his parents, Carl, Sr. Fitzgerald and Patty Fitzgerald of Owensboro; and his siblings, Carl Fitzgerald, Jr. (Natalie), Lisa Russell (James) of Owensboro and Kayla Fitzgerald of Owensboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Daniel Pitino Shelter, 501 Walnut Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
