He was predeceased by: his father James Manuel Combs; his brothers, James M. Combs, Jr. and Braxton L. Combs; his wives, Vicki Lyle Combs and Joyce Hudson Combs; and his son Jody Braxton Combs.
He is survived by: his sons, John Cranfill Combs of Lawrenceburg, KY and Perry Vernon Combs (Gwen) of Hattiesburg, MS; his grandsons, Ian Combs (Farah) and Evan Combs (Nichole); and his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Savannah and Lucas Combs.
