He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hufnagel and Theresa Tepper Hufnagel; his wife Wanda Wahl Hufnagel; and his sisters, Lucille Ruprecht and Thelma Tabling.

He is survived by: his children, John Hufnagel (Nancy) and Ann Payne (Kenny) of Owensboro; his granddaughters, Teresa Campbell (Jonathan) and Marilyn Crump (Mark); his great grandchildren, Brandon Fischer, Amanda Jarvis and Lindsey Hudson; his great great grandchildren, Cayden Roper, Ryleigh Owen, Brystal Hudson, Karmen Hudson, Willow Jarvis, Greyson Holmes and Keegan Thomas; and his friend Brenda Sansone. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
