He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Tutt, Jr. and Nina Pearl Brown Tutt; and his siblings, Diane Sherman, David Tutt and Melvin Tutt.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Tutt; his sons, Robert Sutherland (Pam) of Owensboro, Vernon Sutherland (Alejandra) of Garland, Andre Tutt (Onitsha) and Joseph Tutt (Kristen) of Owensboro; his foster son Frank Herman (Jaymee) of Owensboro; his brothers, Rev. Terry Tutt of Owensboro and Tony Tutt of New Orleans, Louisiana; and his siblings-in-law, Vanessa Edgerson, Johnnie Hinton, Alice Johnson, Vivian Johnson, Cindy Tutt, Tim Edgerson, Rudolph Johnson, Scott Johnson, William C. Johnson and Jesse Sherman, Sr.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
