He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron Shelton and Christene King Shelton; his wife Faye Shelton (Wahl); and his sister Elwanda Shelton (Gwen Quick). He is survived by: his children, Lori Poole (Bryan) and Kim Mayfield (Kevin); his nieces, Darlene Milligan and Gloria Westerfield; his grandchildren, Courtney Poole, Zach Mayfield (Bailey) and Kendra Poole; his great grandchildren, Madison Mayfield, Jaxon Mayfield and Finley Mayfield; and also Tina.

In remembrance of Shorty, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
