He was predeceased by: his mother Josie Haegle (Wangler); his wife Judy Fortune (Miller); and his siblings, Cherry Whilhelmus, George Held (Bud) and Bob Fortune.

He is survived by: his stepfather George Haegle; his children, Scott Fortune (Penny) of Maceo, KY and Cindy Burden (Jimmy) of Reed, KY; his brother Marvin Fortune; his grandchildren, Kimberly Kelly (Quillan) of Owensboro, KY, Lisa Purvis (Roy) of Whitesville, KY, Laine Fortune of Owensboro, KY and Zachrey Fortune (Erica) of St. Charles, MO; his great grandchildren, Tyson Crawford, Alyssa Crawford, Makia Miller, Lexi Miller, Trey Miller, McKenna Fortune and Emersyn Fortune; and his great great grandchild Braelynn Crawford. He is also survived by great-great-grandchild; Several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
