It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janita Holladay of Owensboro, Kentucky, born in Centertown, Kentucky, who passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Bennett and Lucille Bennett (James); her husbands, William Holladay and Joseph Ginn; and her siblings, Larry, Gene, R. T. Bennett, Cora Belle James, Carolyn Kirk, Maxine Heflin and Wanda Whitehead.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Carey Ruiz (Derek) of Lexington and Eddie Duke (Lisa) of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Megann Brown, Edierah Brown, Kala Brown, Isabella Watkins, Eliana Ruiz, Michael Ruiz, Jeslyn Ruiz, Seth Duke (Ellen), Sarah Braden (Jarrett), Samuel Duke and Sydnie Duke; and her great grandchildren, Hazel and Claire Braden. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
