He was predeceased by: his parent James Pierce; and his former wife Judith Chumley Poteat. He is survived by: his parent Lucy Josephine Poteat; his wife Annamaria Bozarth Poteat; his son William Seth Poteat (Karen) of Lexington; his stepsons, Aaron Clarke (Stacy) of Greenville, IN and Jason Clarke of Lawrenceburg, IN; his grandchildren, Jude Harrison Poteat and Leighton Jane Poteat; his stepgrandchildren, Ethan Clarke, Tyler Clarke and Kasen Clarke; and his siblings, Steve Poteat (Vickie) of Philpot, Keith Poteat (Alicia) of Auburn, IL, Jerry Dockery (Susan) of Owensboro and Lynn Fogle (Phil) of Masonville.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Special Olympics of Daviess County, Hospice of Western Kentucky, or St Jude Children's Hospital.
