He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earl and Ruth Frances Walker Boyd; and his brothers, David Boyd and Ronnie Boyd. He is survived by: his spouse Sherlie Boyd; his children, Stephen Wayne Boyd (Lori) of Owensboro, Jeffrey Lynn Boyd of Owensboro, Holly Carol Winkler (Paul) of Owensboro and Malinda Lou Burchett of Owensboro; and his brothers, Carl Boyd, Donnie Boyd (Ann) and Bobby Boyd.
